THE DEACON MINISTRY

Deacon ministry is a care giving ministry that brings God's grace and tender love to those in times of need.  Members and friends of our church family are part of Deacon Care Groups, overseen by a pair of deacons.

Deacons help us to care for each other.  They administer our prayer chain.  They coordinate memorial service receptions at the request of the family.  They also keep us informed of ways that we can provide simple, yet vital, services to our brothers and sisters in faith, such as, hospital visitation, meals to those who are ill or injured, transportation to worship or doctors.

Deacon care also includes drawing us together as a family of God.  Deacons coordinate the Sunday morning coffee hours, worship greeters, and communion table setting.

During the holiday season, deacons coordinate the collection and distribution of food to needy families in our community.

IN NEED OF PRAYER?

Prayer is an important part of our life together.  Prayer is a way to move through life with peace in our hearts.  Prayer is a tool that we use to develop our awareness of God and to bring ourselves closer to the Lord.

Opportunities for prayer are offered during each worship service, as well as during special prayer services and silent and guided prayer retreats.

Our Prayer Chain links over sixty people, through telephone and e-mail, who pray for the needs of others.  To put your prayer request on the prayer chain, e-mail the church office at prayerchain@shadowhillschurch.com.

PRAYER NEEDS

In addition to the prayer requests on the prayer chain and during the worship services.  Please consider holding some of these needs in your heart and prayers.
